Book Review: Book Lovers

I typically write my reviews for books within about 24 hours after I read them, even if I don’t post them for a little while. I like to make sure I get all of my thoughts down before I move on to something else. However, I had to take a few days to just let BOOK LOVERS sit after I finished it. It needed to marinate. I needed to recover from it. But I’m finally ready to talk.

Wow. Wow wow wow. It isn’t often that I read a book in two days. I used to, before I had a rambunctious toddler. But I had some personal things go on and needed to have some down time, so I ended up reading BOOK LOVERS in two days. I couldn’t stop. It was so incredible. I loved every moment. I laughed, I teared up, I didn’t want it to end.

Nora Stephens is a book agent. She’s not like romance novel heroine – she doesn’t cry, she isn’t really looking for love, and she definitely isn’t soft and sweet (she’s known in the publishing industry as the shark). She works hard for her clients and to take care of her little sister Libby.

When Libby insists on taking a vacation before her third child is born, Nora begrudgingly agrees to accompany her to the tiny town of Sunshine Falls, where Nora’s author’s bestseller took place. Complete with a list of romance novel situations, such as wearing plaid, saving a local business and dating locals, Nora and Libby set off on their small town adventure.

While there, Nora runs in to Charlie Lastra, the brooding editor she doesn’t get along. And unfortunately they keep running into each other over and over. To complicate things further, they also begin working on an editing project together. Even though her feelings grow for Charlie, Nora can’t risk falling in love.

THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK. I can’t even. I absolutely LOVED BEACH READ and PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION and this was no different. The banter! The chemistry! There were so many parts I laughed out loud about. It was so funny but also heartfelt and deep and sad. I loved Nora and Charlie! And I loved Libby! It was amazing.

If you haven’t read BOOK LOVERS yet, you absolutely must!!
