Book Review: Lease on Love
Lease on Love has been one of my most anticipated reads for 2022 (I even mentioned it this post). I had been seeing people posting about it on Twitter for months, raving about how great it was, rubbing it in about their ARCs.
Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to read it.
And they were right! All of them! But I’ll get to that. Lease on Love is an adorable roommates to lovers romance with lots of humor and heart.
When Sadie Green is fired from her job instead of getting the promotion she expected, she drunkenly swipes right on a roommate app instead of a dating app. After realizing she is not in fact on a date with Jack, the curly headed, bespectacled introvert, she decides that taking him up on his offer to live in his amazing Brooklyn brownstone for dirt cheap is exactly what she need. With no job and less to pay in rent, she’s able to focus more on her true passion – floral arranging.
Jack is still grieving the death of his parents, but slowly opens up to Sadie and her close knit group of friends, while also making Sadie realize maybe Jack is worth giving a relationship a shot.
This book was absolutely adorable. Jack Thomas is my new book boyfriend. I love him. And I loved Sadie, she’s a snarky straight shooter who talks a lot. Both are dealing with a lot of past traumas, but I love how that also brought them together. And Sadie’s enviable group of friends is the best! (My one disappointment was I was hoping Gemma would get a book, but I’m kind of thinking she isn’t… )
It was one of those that I couldn’t wait to finish, but also didn’t want to end. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Anyway, I highly recommend it!
