Book Review: Just for Show

Who loves fake dating, social media, cheese plates and a handsome carpenter with a cute butt? Have I got your attention? Well, you can find all of these things and more in my friend Julie Hamilton’s book Just For Show! You might remember I did a q&a with Julie right after the release, but now it’s time for a review!

Audrey and Luke have a midair meet cute on a flight home to Chicago, but he doesn’t get to ask her out before she leaves. So what does he do? He sends a tweet looking for her that goes viral (#TwitterBae). Luke is a TV home renovations carpenter with a new TV show come out, and his network wants him to date Audrey for the publicity. Audrey is starting her own photography business, and Luke’s viral tweet and social media exposure could help get her business off the ground. So why not fake date to get what they each want?

Luke and Audrey agree to date for the summer to help each of their careers. With a list of rules like no telling anyone, no kissing, and definitely no sex, they are sure to keep the relationship strictly professional. Right?

Needless to say, I loved Just For Show! It is such a fun read! Luke and Audrey had such great chemistry and excellent banter. (Also v. steamy!) Audrey’s two ride or die best friends are fantastic, and Luke has a hilarious cousin desperate to get on TV. I really loved the social media aspect of it too. And how can you not love a good fake dating story? There’s baseball and cheese plates and puppies! I mean, honestly it has it all. It will also make you wish it were summer and not winter so you might need to be warned about that.

And did I mention besides fake dating, you can also find there’s only one bed?

So make sure you pick up Just For Show!
